The company history of SELIT Dämmtechnik GmbH begins with the manufacture of hollow blocks in the year 1948. The long-established firm is now being managed by the third generation. Facing the challenge of developing and producing innovative products at the highest level of quality still remains our company’s aspiration.

| 1978 | Foundation of the SELIT Werke Seitner GmbH (today’s SELIT Dämmtechnik GmbH) – Start of production of insulation materials |
| 1980 | Start of production by the first XPS extrusion plant |
| 1982 | First deliveries to DIY chain stores |
| 1990 | Expansion of the plant area to 25,000 m² |
| 1995 | Start of production by the second XPS extrusion plant, as well as an additional panel production plant |
| 1996 | Award of the innovation award “Top 12 in Rheinhessen” by Prof. de Zoeten |
| 2002 | New construction of a second factory hall and founding of the sister company SELIT-TEC Dämmsysteme GmbH |
| 2003 | Inauguration of the SELITstraße (“SELIT street”) |
| 2005 | Extension of the plant area to more than 45.000 m² and expansion of the storage depot area |
| 2007 | Start of production by the third XPS extrusion plant and acquisition of an additional storage depot |
| 2008 | SELIT became a member of EPLF e.V. / Start of production by the fourth XPS extrusion plant, as well as the seventh post-foaming line |
